From Sam... something to ponder.
"But WHY she cut off their tails with a carving knife?"

Super-quick posting on my way out the door-- I'm headed off to work to interview new receptionists AGAIN. What? What's that? I just did this? Yeah, well, it sucks like that sometimes. I'll just keep hoping that Rob gets stationed in Newark.
Jonathan's socks are off to work as well, fortunately, attached to Jonathan's feet. These are some really kick-ass socks.
Despite the fact that I was at the office until 10:00 last night (ack!) I continue to make progress on Gary's socks. I was about 2/3 of the way through the heel flap when I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.
If I have one done before we leave for San Diego, there's a chance I'll be able to start/finish the other before the client meeting.
And here's a picture of Sam that was too cute not to post...
Have a great day!

Jonathan's socks are finished-- we had a VERY well-attended KnitWits gathering this past Sunday... so many cookies. Anyway, I found enough time between cookies to finish Jonathan's socks-- I handed them to him when I got home, and he put them on... which means by the time you get a FO picture, they'll already be washed & worn again!
I barely gave the sock needles a chance to cool down before starting Gary's thank you socks... more Trekking sock yarn, size 1 needles, think I can finish them before we leave for San Diego in 2 weeks?
(I knew if I kept at this long enough, I'd finally knit something that looked good against my living room chair.)

Gary Gerber might well be the coolest person I know.
I'm thinking knitters don't really care. However, I have no other public forum... so this is what you get.
This man makes like $3000 AN HOUR to speak for some really big & important corporate clients. I asked him (in a joking sort of way) to speak at our practice's annual meeting yesterday... and he did. For free. Just because. It was awesome. Really. We spent the morning discussing customer service & ways to provide better care to our patients... and then Gary showed up & talked about the Ritz-Carlton, and how they provide the best care to their customers, and how we can relate that to our practice... so cool.
Then we all (us & our staff-- not Gary, although he was invited) went to the spa for some well-earned relaxation & stress relief. Aaaaaaaah. Sylvia the massage therapist is also a pretty cool person.
We had 2 new hires start today. So far so good. We'll see who comes back tomorrow. I am, as you know, difficult to work for.
THEN, tonight, we do a conference call with Gary & his clients on frame inventory management. Oh I am freaking out. I am slightly tempted to leave Sam here alone & go count our frames. Don't worry, I won't. If Jonathan was home, though, I think I'd be in the car on the way to the office right now.
Ok. Gotta chill out. Going to knit... (have to finish Jonathan's socks, so I can start a 'thank you' pair for Gary!)

Think my 2006 resolution was to blog more?
Too crazy. I haven't been knitting much-- my right shoulder was killing me (my left knee also). Between my optometry training & my Google med school degree, I've diagnosed it as a digestive problem. I'm taking acidophilus, and it's feeling better... in case you care.
I did finish 1 sock for Jonathan & am ready to start the heel flap of the 2nd.
Work has been absolutely bonkers. Rachel has been out sick (but she's back)... and the schedule has been consistently busy... we hired two new staff people... it's all crazy, but good... except tonight, which kind of sucked... A LOT. We're trying to get caught up from crazy December... and get ready for our annual meeting (and spa trip, woo hoo!) Tuesday. We were so ready to have a catch-up day tomorrow... then found out today that our computers will be down for 6+ hours tomorrow while we switch to a new server... Ugh.
Sam is in a huge daddy phase-- he wants nothing to do with me-- "No, Mommy! You go in bedroom! Daddy is playing this game with me!" Yes that is lovely to hear... talk about cold pricklies! Evil boy. Eh... it's okay... Elefun is not so fun after the first 8 billion times.
I will take pictures & post soon.
