I think Pyrex should make the spouts on their measuring cups bigger so that you can pour fast without making a mess.

To the ladies of the Thursday morning knitting group:

I will not be joining you at Orpha's today. Rather, I will be sticking knitting needles up my nose in an effort to penetrate the wall of solid snot that is preventing me from breathing.

Feh.

I finished the 2nd "LiveStrong" sock for Kim-- aka More Fun Than Cables (I really like this pattern) in testicular cancer yellow.

I hope these bring lots of good health-and-wellness energy to Kim & Rob... I wish I lived closer and could do more.

Do you think that the cave-toddlers were fussy eaters?
NO! I do not WANT the woolly mammoth! I only want the bison! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Anyway, as promised... here is yellow sock #1...

I have finished the leg on yellow sock #2 & am working on the heel flap.

And here's my girl...

Ooh I am just such a social knitter this week...

Tali & I went (slowly) to Thursday morning knitting group again. Here is photographic evidence:

Vyjanti (I'm probably butchering the spelling), Pat, and Maggie...

Yikes-- I can't remember this woman's name (it's definitely not Sally)... and Camille.

There were more people than this-- some had left by the time I remembered I had the camera-- and another didn't want her picture online (Oh, the stories I am concocting in my twisted imagination)-- but it was a very fun morning again, and I am hoping we can go next Thursday!

Then, on Friday, since Sue was in town, we had knit night at Carriellen's. It was snowing pretty heavily here-- but that didn't stop us. Jay cooked a wonderful meal, and Sue, Susan, Carriellen & I knitted & crocheted our little hearts out.

I miss you Sue!!!

Sam loved the snow-- even though we only had a few inches, he has been waiting all year to build a snowman, and was not going to pass up the chance. Fortunately, my next door neighbor has been waiting all year as well-- here they are with their snowman, who was melting almost as fast as they could build him.

I've been working on yellow sock #2... took pictures today & will post as soon as I upload.

In case you were wondering, this is what your mail looks like a week after you get a speeding ticket.

Ack.

Tali and I are getting ready to head out for the slow drive to Thursday morning knitting group now. I'm going to bring my camera!

If you get a chance, please fill out my survey. Thanks!

What's more fun than Tuesday morning knitting group???

Thursday morning knitting group!

Due to life in general, I hadn't been able to make it back to the Tuesday morning knitting group. But... they had mentioned another group that met on Thursday mornings... so yesterday morning, stars aligned, and Tali and I rushed off to meet the knitters. We were in such a hurry that I got a freaking speeding ticket on the way! There's a joke about a cardigan and a pullover somewhere in here, but I'm letting it be... because 55 in a 35 is no joke... any ideas on how to get such charges minimized?

Anyway, once I arrived and calmed down, it was really fun! The group meets at Orpha's in Skillman-- lots more people than the Tuesday group, and raucous discussion of knitted thongs and such, plus soy milk for the lattes. How can I go wrong? I think I'm going to be working Tuesdays starting in April, but I will try to leave Thursdays free as much as possible. I will just proceed slowly down Promenade Boulevard. Feh.

Tali snoozed, and I started this:

It's a sock for my oldest friend-- not age-wise-- we've just been friends the longest. Anyway, her husband was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer, and I don't live close enough to do anything truly helpful... so I wanted to make something yellow... and this is what I came up with. The yarn is Lana Grossa Meilenweit Cotton from Carriellen's stash... and the pattern is More Fun Than Cables Sock Pattern. I had a whole "Livestrong" thing charted out-- but decided I liked this better. Many good vibes knitted in to this sock.

Hey-- if you have a minute, can you take this survey? We're thinking of starting a blog for the office & need to know what eye stuff people find interesting.

You know what they say about girls with small feet?

Small socks!

One of the benefits of having size 6 1/2 feet is that I can make socks for myself pretty quickly. I started these Saturday... got a lot of extra knitting time on Saturday afternoon at Carriellen's. Sam had a sleepover with Grandma on Saturday night & Jonathan was studying... so I was knitting... and the last 2 days, Tali has napped from 9 a.m. until 11:30 or noon... hence the knit-abundance!

This is the River Rapids Sock Pattern from Sockbug, knit in Regia Bamboo (which might be a new favorite).

Ack! Empty sock needles! Must cast on for sock #2... now!

Think my boo will be the only optometrist in NJ wearing lucky handknit socks to take his Orals Pharmaceuticals Certification Exam tomorrow?

Sam & Tali say, "Good luck, Daddy!"
