Yes, I have a job, and a family, and a life... can you tell?

We had a GREAT time at the Power Practice Client Meeting & met some new people who will hopefully become friends. Vision Expo was a little low key compared to previous years, but fun & successful. We bought equipment for our second exam lane, and should have that up and running by the end of April! We found some interesting and unique frames from abroad... a line called "Axel S." from Germany... and check out the colors on these frames from Etnia Barcelona! I'll post pictures once they all arrive in a few weeks.

I didn't get too much knitting done... but I managed to sneak some in today, and have finished turning the heel on the first sock.

I don't want to go back to normal life :(

I'm off to New York City for a few days-- headed to the Power Practice Client Meeting, and Vision Expo East. I'm bringing the sock to work on... hopefully I'll have some knitting time! We'll be back Saturday night...

Rolling down the final stretch...

The hood edging is complete & all that's left is assembly. I sewed one sleeve in so far... and what did I do next? Finish the project??? NOPE! I ripped out the sock I had started, and started a new sock...

I am SO BAD about finishing things... like I just don't do it. My cabinet of unfinished projects is full of things that could be finished in an hour or less... I am BAD.

But I like the new sock much better-- it will be good to have a portable knitting project to take to NYC this weekend, and to Toronto when we go in April.

And I WILL finish the sweater... one seam at a time... maybe I'll go work on it now.

The hood is done & grafted... dare I attempt to pick up the 182 stitches around the hood now?

It would be nice to get these picked up before Stitch & Chat tomorrow... but I'm running on VERY little sleep-- SOMEONE in my house is teething, and was up almost every hour last night... poor little dude.

Is it me, or is this starting to look like a sweater???

Next step is to sew the shoulder seams and start working on the hood. Yay!

I win! I win! I'm a prize-winning poet... and now I know it! Check out WendyKnits to see WHO is the winner of her March limerick contest! Okay-- it's me! Woo hoo! Happy Day!

I'm going to add at least one blanket for Critter Knitters to my "to-be-knitted" list... maybe my luck will hold out & I'll win again! Regardless, I'll be keeping a kitty or a puppy warm & happy... so whether I get a prize or not, I'm definitely a winner. Yay!

So now to decide what to do with my limerick prize... I never knitted anything in laceweight before... Any ideas? I haven't figured out how to have space for comments yet-- but if you have a great idea, please e-mail me TZVECL at COMCAST dot NET... replacing the words with appropriate symbols of course :)

Where does the general keep his armies???

In his SLEEVIES, of course :)

I'm really getting excited to see this sweater all put together! I don't know when I'll get to finish the sleeves-- I am hoping to go to sleep early tonight-- furniture for our second exam room is being delivered tomorrow (eek!) so I have to get myself & Sam to work by 9:00. Then I really HAVE to do this presentation... deadline is Friday, so the last-minute adrenaline should kick in sometime Thursday night. Eh-- I'll find time to knit, I'm sure. There are some errors in the pattern for the sweater- I may have to go to the knitting store for help-- we'll see. So far, so good.

As promised... a progress picture of the sweater, in brilliant natural sunlight!

Hmmm... will I start the sleeves while watching TV tonight, or will I give undivided attention to Survivor All-Stars AND The Apprentice??? Tough call. I do know for sure that neither one is going to help me finish my presentation for the Power Practice Client Seminar, though. Bah. It's pretty much done in my head. Someone should develop software that can take this presentation out of my brain, and just make it into a PowerPoint.

I have about a million things I should be doing, and I'm happy to report that I've done none of them. I have, however, finished the front of the striped hoodie sweater. I'll take pictures tomorrow in better light, then start on the sleeves.

We booked plane tickets for a weekend trip to Toronto in April... I'm excited to check out the yarn stores while we're there!

Sleeping baby = time to knit... and blog!

Work continues on the sweater front... I have about 4 or 5 inches to go before starting the neck shaping. I just started my 2nd skein (out of 3) of each color... I should have enough... the hood is throwing me off a little bit.

I am thinking of ripping out the Koigu socks I started & make a plainer pattern with them... I can't decide.

I finished the back of the sweater & am starting on the front... hopefully I'll have some new & exciting pictures soon.

Sam has been sleeping very well lately-- I have gotten about 9 inches (of 13.5) done on the sweater back. I love it love it love it! I can't believe that next year, I'm going to have a kid big enough to wear it.

Sam is asleep now, and Jonathan is at hockey... oh, the knitting potential... I think I might be too tired though... maybe I should go to sleep.
